<description><![CDATA[(05/19/13) Pawtucket – Dr. Nora M. Walker, 87, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Parfenchuck for twenty-seven years. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Dada) Walker. Nora had been employed at the Biltmore Hotel, Providence, until moving to Washington, DC where she was employed at the State Department.  She returned to RI and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Rhode Island College; Master’s Degree in Reading from the University of Rhode Island and a Doctorate in Philosophy from Syracuse University. She worked as a Reading Specialist in Cranston and also served as Assistant Director of Elementary Education for the City of Warwick until retiring in 1985. Nora was a lifelong and very active member of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, where she served on the Church Council; sang in the Choir and was a former Superintendent of the Cemetery. She was also active in Teen Soyo and was a member of the Antiochian Women and was a former New England Arabic Woman of the Year. Besides her husband, she leaves a sister, Doris Arruda and her husband, Arthur; a brother, Louis Walker and his wife, Dorothy, all of Pawtucket; two stepsons, Dr. Thomas A. Parfenchuck and his wife, Ann Marie and their three children of Augusta, Georgia and Jeffrey B. Parfenchuck and his wife, Darcy and their son of Tucson, Arizona and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Elaine Argencourt. Georgette Bankert and George Walker, Sr. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by Services at 10 a.m.  in St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, 249 High St., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. She was the former wife of the late Manuel Costa (founder of Lisbon Construction); the mother of Manuel Costa, Jr. (Judith Costa) and the late Linda Dubois (Roger); the grandmother of Scott and Roger Dubois, Bryan Costa (Shannon) and the late Jason Dubois; the great-grandmother of Courtney Lynn Dubois-Fox, Maya and Brayden Costa; the sister of Palmira “Myra” Bandarra of Fall River and the daughter of the late Antone and Mary (Matthews) Costa; and also leaves nieces and nephews.

<description><![CDATA[(05/19/13) Arthur J. Begin, 64, of Pilgrim Avenue, Coventry, RI, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Philip Hulitar Home and Hospice Care of RI, in Providence, RI. Born in Providence, RI, he was married to Diana M. (Campanile) Begin for 40 years and was the son of the late Joseph and Dolores (Alexander) Begin. 

Arthur was a truck driver for 28 years for Centrex Distributors in West Greenwich, RI before his retirement in 2006. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #251 and the Coventry VFW Post 9404. He also served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. 

Besides his wife, Arthur is survived by his three children; Jennifer L. Bates, Albert J. Begin, and Michelle M. Begin, his mother-in-law; Margaret Campanile, three brothers; George, Nelson, and Michael Begin, two sisters; Elaine Elsey and Ann Marie Begin, and five grandchildren. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home and Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI, with Military Honors being held prior at 3:30 pm and calling hours from 4:00-7:00 pm.

<description><![CDATA[(05/19/13) Cleo Carrier, 86, of Field Avenue, West Warwick, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at West View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Legris Avenue. He was the husband of Jeanne R. (Chartier) Carrier. The couple would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on July 4.
 
A lifelong resident of West Warwick,  Mr. Carrier was born December 28, 1926 in Warwick. He was the son of the late Ovide and Valeda (Heroux) Carrier.
 
When Mr. Carrier was a young man, his family home and many family possessions were lost to the spreading flames of the historic Natick Mill Fire.
 
Mr. Carrier was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Graves Registration in the Philippines at the end of World War II.
 
Initially a volunteer firefighter, he was a professional member of the West Warwick Fire Department for 28 years, retiring in 1987. He spent his career serving at Station 4 Crompton. He was also employed as a groundskeeper at St. Mary\'s Cemetery, West Warwick, and as a maintenance person for Lum Realty for many years.
 
He volunteered as a bus driver for students of Our Lady of Providence Seminary, Warwick. He played dart baseball for Club Frontenac. With his best friend, Maurice \"Bucky\" Boisclair, he was an avid follower of the West Warwick High School and LaSalle Academy football teams. The two, along with a group of friends from the fire department, often traveled to Fenway Park for Red Sox games. Mr. Carrier was a former member of the Troop Committee for Boy Scout Troop 13 Centreville. He was active in his parish of Christ the King, West Warwick. He enjoyed baking, working in his yard and garden, and walking around town or around the mall.
 
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Michelle A. Carrier-Migliozzi, whose husband is Tony, of Coventry, Monique M. Rice, whose husband is Paul, of Warwick, Joseph A. Carrier, whose wife is Lisa M. (Pare), of Alexandria, Kentucky, and Aimee M. Carrier of Warwick; and his grandchildren, Johnathon and Jessi Migliozzi, Patrick Rice and Damon and Logan Carrier. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Valeda and Helen Carrier, both of whom died in childhood
 
His funeral will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 9 a.m. from the Henault-Gallogly Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at  10 in Christ the King Church, 120 Legris Avenue (Route 117). Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary\'s Cemetery, Church Street. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

   A lifelong resident of Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Moses and Annie (Shabo) Abraham.

   Mrs. Sweeting was a jewelry worker for Monet Jewelers, Pawtucket before retiring.

   She was a member of St. Ephraim’s Syrian Orthodox Church, Central Falls, where she was also a member of the Ladies Society of the Church.

   She is survived by her loving son, George G. Sweeting of Central Falls; her loving sister, Joan Abraham of North Providence; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Margaret Pennington, Ruth Jones, Josephine “Sue” McLaughlin, and George, Louis, James, Albert and Joseph Abraham.

<description><![CDATA[(05/18/13) John F. Bennett, 92, of Warwick, died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Home, East Greenwich. He was the husband of the late Helen J. (Pentz) Bennett. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late William G. Bennett and Mary E. (Hickey) Bennett. 

Mr. Bennett was the Manager of the Apprentice Information Center for the State of RI (Division of Employment Security) until his retirement. Prior to his State service, he was an executive in the private industry. 

An avid golfer, he also enjoyed boating and playing chess. He was a member of the Apponaug Old Timers, a longtime member of the Potowomut Country Club, and a Communicant of St. Gregory the Great Church. 

He leaves his four devoted children: J. Michael Bennett and his wife Pamela of West Kingston, Cheryl B. Connelly and her husband Kevin of Madison, NJ, Janice A. Harrison and her husband Richard of Walpole, MA, and Lauren E. Bates and her husband Eric of Pelham, NY. Cherished grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was the brother of the late Gordon Bennett, Richard Bennett, and Martha Bennett. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 10:30 am in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Lena was born and raised in the Fox Point section of Providence and was a graduate of Cleary School and the former St. Xavier Academy. Prior to her marriage, she worked for Shepard Department Store. She was a Communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

She leaves her loving children: Eileen Lussier (Robert) of West Warwick, Elizabeth \"Betty Ann\" McDonough of Cranston, and John E. McDonough (Leslie) of Connecticut. Cherished grandmother of four grandchildren, Matthew (Melissa) and Ryan Lussier, John B. and Anne McDonough. She was the sister of James Hassell of Greenville and the late Viola Boullier and Rita Waller. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

   Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Millichamp) Oakland, she had lived in Pawtucket all of her life before moving to New York 9 years ago.

   Mrs. Simmons was a bookkeeper for the Pelletier Trucking Company, Pawtucket before retiring. She was a 1933 graduate of Pawtucket High School.

   She was a member of the former Church of the Advent, Pawtucket and its organist for over 70 years. She was also a member of its Altar Guild and a member, secretary and treasurer of its St. Margaret’s Guild.

   She was a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Pawtucket Women’s Club. 

   She is survived by two daughters, E. Suzanne Simmons and her husband, Joseph Balliro of Middleboro, MA and Virginia M. Sword and her husband, Paul of Salem, NY; four grandchildren; two great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Arthur Oakland and Helen Kelly.

   Her Requiem Eucharist will be held MONDAY, MAY 20 at 10 A.M. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 490 Broadway, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.

<description><![CDATA[(05/16/13) West Warwick - Ida M. (Izzi) Lancellotta, 103, of Monterey Drive, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at West View Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Angelo E. Lancellotta.

	Born in Natick, a daughter of the late Olimpio and Maria (Coia) Izzi, she worked as a secretary at several local textile mills.  She then left the mills and began devoting all her time, energy and love to caring for her family.  For the next eighty years, her family was her focus.  Along with being a full-time mother and grandmother, Ida was also a fabulous cook.  She loved to prepare meals for family and friends.  Whether it was wine biscuits, “cavads”, panettone, or her specialty, eggplant parmesan, anyone who entered her home would leave with a full stomach and a warm heart.  Ida was loved by her friends and family, including her second family at West View Health Care Center who loved and cared for Ida in these last years of her life.  She will be deeply missed by all who have loved her.

	She leaves loving memories to be cherished by one daughter: Anita M. Simpkins and her husband Allen with whom she lived; eight grandchildren: Melissa Gaethofs, Mark, Allen and Jonathan Simpkins, Debra Smith, Robert and Karen Petrarca and Mia Pehjat and seven great grandchildren: Mia, Max, Enzo, Joseph, Antonio, Marah and Drew Marie. She was the mother of the late Norma Petrarca and was predeceased by her six siblings.

	Her funeral service will be held TODAY, Friday, May 17 at 11:30 am at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. <description><![CDATA[(05/12/13) Sowers, James M. “Jim”, 62, made his transition at home on Sunday, May 12, 2013 after a courageous, three and a half year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Eve Houghton Sowers of Greene, RI, married 24 years. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late John B. and Irene E. (Miller) Sowers.

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and worked at CCRI over 30 years in the I.T. department, until November. He was passionate about music and enjoyed playing the guitar, especially, duets with his children. As a sailing enthusiast, and woodworking craftsman, he recently refurbished a Sharpie and enjoyed sailing Narragansett Bay.  Jim’s hobbies also included gardening, canning, brewing beer, creating wooden furniture, and enjoying nature, family and friends at his home in Greene. 

Besides his wife Eve, he is survived by three children: Tyler H. Sowers, Ava Mei H. Sowers of Greene and Jennifer Stoltz, her husband Dave and granddaughter Madelyn of Pennsylvania; three siblings: Kathy Larsson of Warwick, Tom Sowers of Warwick, Nancy Gaucher and her husband Gary of Pascoag; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jim’s children and family meant the world to him and he will be sadly missed.

A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, May 19 at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick.  Calling hours are Saturday from 2-5 PM. Burial will be Monday at RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter. <description><![CDATA[(05/15/13) Barrington - Albert W. Prichard, 81, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 in Fort Myers, FL. He was the husband of Frances (Wenning) Prichard for 54 years.

	Born in Englewood, NJ, the son of the late Albert and Harriet (Wilcox) Prichard, he served during the Korean War in the United States Navy assigned to the USS Wisconsin BB 64. He was a member of the USS Wisconsin Association and of several VFW Posts.

	A retired electrical engineer, he worked on Aquidneck Island in the defense contracting industry. Among the companies he worked for were General Dynamics, Raytheon and Hughes Aircraft. He was a lifetime member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers professional association. For his entire life, he had a keen interest in mathematics, with specific interest in prime numbers and the derivations of Pi.

	Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters: Janet J. Prichard of North Smithfield and Marlene Prichard of Riverside; one son: Anthony P. Prichard of Los Angeles, CA and two grandchildren: Andrew W. and Sarah C. Hayden.

	Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 17 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. A private graveside service, followed by military honors and his interment, will be held in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. <description><![CDATA[(05/15/13) Mary F. (Algiere) Lombardo, 95, of Pequot Trail, Pawcatuck, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 14, 2013 at her home. 

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Joseph D. Lombardo of Pawcatuck, her son, David J. Lombardo of Ocala, FL, her grandchildren, Gary Lombardo of San Diego, CA and Sheri Landry of Lebanon, CT, two great-grandchildren, Erica Landry and Katie Landry, and three sisters, Angie Allen, Clarie Green and Carmela Getty. 

Mrs. Lombardo was born in Charlestown on April 5, 1918, the daughter of the late Angelo and Georgiette (Gabrielle) Algiere. She worked for 35 years as a textile worker for the George C. Moore Company of Westerly and the Stonington School system lunchroom program. She was a member of St, Michael’s Church and the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center. 

A funeral service will take place at Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 11:00 am. Calling hours will precede the funeral service from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Pawcatuck.

<description><![CDATA[(05/15/13) Vittorio Delle Fave, 94, of Warwick passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at home. He was the husband of the late Carolina (Del Vicario) Delle Fave for 66 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Michele and Antonetta (Marcis) Delle Fave. 

Mr. Delle Fave was a carpenter for several Rhode Island construction companies until his retirement. He served in The United States Army during WW II and was awarded a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees.

He was the beloved father of Vittorio Delle Fave, Jr. of Warwick and Robert M. Delle Fave and his wife Karen of Cranston. Loving grandfather of Kathy A. Lewandowski and her husband Thomas. Cherished great-grandfather of Kaitlin and Elizabeth Lewandowski. Caring brother of Bartolomeo Delle Fave of Johnston, Michelina Paiva of Florida, Concetta Fagan of Providence and the late Domenico, Leonardo and Joseph Delle Fave.

<description><![CDATA[(05/10/13) Roy, Timothy M., 52, of Hardig Road passed away on Friday, May 10th, 2013 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. Born in Warwick, he was the son of Edward C. and Diana M. (Tobey) Roy of West Greenwich. 

Besides his parents he is survived by three brothers: Edward C. Roy, Esq. (Geralyn) of Coventry, Robert J. Roy of Coventry and Craig E. Roy (Lee) of Greenville, SC. He was the uncle to Brendan, Colin, Kirsten (God-Daughter), Chandler and Connor Roy.

Tim was a graduate of the Community College of Rhode Island and attended Johnson and Wales University, earning several certificates in the culinary arts.

Tim was a sports enthusiast especially devoted to the New York Yankees, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. Befitting someone born on St. Patrick’s Day, Tim was blessed with a quick Irish wit. Timmy was known for his impressions of famous persons, with his most notable being former President Nixon.  He was a gifted artist who donated his artworks willingly to family and friends.. He will be missed by his family and friends.  Tim was also a lover of  music, in particular, Bob Dylan and Neil Young.  All who knew Timmy will remember his generosity and good heart.

A gathering will take place at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Friday, May 17th at 9 AM followed with interment and committal service at RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter.

<description><![CDATA[(05/14/13) Lincoln – Victor A. LaPerche, 93, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. He was the husband of the late Lillian (Bennison) LaPerche.

   Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Victor A. LaPerche and the late Katherine (Montgomery) LaPerche Lamb, and the stepson of the late Clarence Lamb. He grew up in Cranston and had lived in Lincoln since 1951. He moved from Lincoln and lived at Emerald Bay Manor for a couple years before moving to The Holiday in Lincoln about a year ago.

   He was a mechanical engineer working at the former Lonsdale Bleachery and Grinnell Corporation before retiring in 1984. He attended the Rhode Island School of Design from 1938-1941.

   Mr. LaPerche was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran stationed in the Aleutian Islands during World War II.

   He was a longtime member of Chapel Street Congregational Church, Lincoln, where he served as Treasurer and was a member of the Choir for over 40 years. He was a former member of the Order of DeMolay.

   Mr. LaPerche enjoyed vacationing at Cape Cod, Poland Spring, Maine, Bermuda, and camping in New Hampshire and Vermont. 

   He thoroughly enjoyed sports in general, and particularly the Red Sox, the Patriots, the Celtics, and his son Ron’s motor sports. He often took his grandchildren for walks and visits to local farms. He was in school and church choirs almost all his life.

   He leaves two sons, Victor A. LaPerche, Jr. and his wife, Laura of Attleboro, MA and Ronald J. LaPerche and his wife, Amy of Pascoag; his sister, Dolores Fraits of Woodinville, WA; his stepsister, Mildred LaPerche of North Reading, MA; his four grandchildren, Victoria, Andrew, Dale and Dylan LaPerche; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George LaPerche and the stepbrother of the late Donald Lamb.

   A Memorial Service will be held FRIDAY, MAY 17 at 11 A.M. in Chapel Street Congregational Church, 185 Chapel Street, Lincoln. Burial will be private. Calling Hours are respectfully omitted. <description><![CDATA[(05/14/13) John J. Botello, Sr., 66, of Lear Drive, Coventry, RI, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at RI Hospital, Providence, RI surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, RI, he was the husband of Victoria (DeJesus) Botello. They were married for fifteen years. He was the son of the late John T. and Clara (Souza) Botello. 

John was a firefighter for the West Warwick Fire Department for twenty-three years until retiring in 1993 as the Assistant Director of Communications. He also worked at the Plainview Dairy of Cranston, RI. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War receiving the Purple Heart. He was a graduate of West Warwick High School, Class of 1965 and was also known as “The Governor” at Ginny B\'s Campground of Foster, RI. 

Besides his wife he is survived by a son; John J. Botello, Jr., WWFD and his wife Amy, a step daughter; Brittney A. DeJesus, two sisters; Patricia Dounetous and Noella Botello, five grandchildren; Savannah Botello, Marcie Botello, Megan Harrington, Kevin Harrington and Emily Harrington and was a loving uncle to Kasey and Nathan DeJesus. 

A funeral will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 9:00 am in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours are Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Burial with military honors will be held in St. Mary\'s Cemetery, West Warwick, RI.

She was a secretary for thirty-five years for General Electric, Warwick, RI, until retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Hillsgrove United Methodist Church of Warwick, RI, where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was also involved in the music program, was a long time active member of the Open Table and was a RSVP volunteer at the church. 

She was predeceased by a brother; Stuart Ennis. 

A memorial service will held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 10:30 am in the Hillsgrove United Methodist Church, 35 Kilvert Street, Warwick, RI. Burial will be private.

<description><![CDATA[(05/14/13) Ruth T. Starrett, 87, of Warwick passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Howard A. and Eva P. (Stevenson) Starrett. 

Miss Starrett was a Registered Pharmacist for Cameron\'s and Rite Aid Pharmacies and then served as a receptionist in Dr. Lester Friedman\'s office. She was a graduate of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy, class of 1946. Since 1940 she was an active member of Lakewood Baptist Church where she was a long serving Deaconess of the church and served as Superintendent of Sunday School for 14 years. 

She is survived by many close friends including Mr. and Mrs. Harold Breedon. 

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Friday from 11:00 am to 12 Noon in Lakewood Baptist Church, 255 Atlantic Avenue, Warwick followed by a Funeral Service at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.

<description><![CDATA[(05/14/13) Regina M. O’Hara, 98, formerly of Warwick, passed from this world to the next on Friday, May 10, 2013 in Saco, Maine. She was the wife of F.J. O\'Hara, and the mother of Thomas R. O\'Hara who predeceased her. Regina was born in New Haven, CT and was the daughter of the late Geoffrey F. and Sarah Reynolds Morrissey. Mrs. O\'Hara was the beloved mother-in-law of the late Mary Ann Kwolek. 

All of Regina\'s brothers and sisters predeceased her, including the late Rev. Philip T. Morrissey, Rev. Francis S. Morrissey, Geoffrey B. Morrissey, Sister M. Chrysostom Morrissey, S.S.J., and the late Mary G. Morrissey.

\"Queenie,\" as she was called by her many friends, was known for her sense of humor, her sharp wit and her amazingly positive outlook on life. Her greatest pleasures were spending time with family & friends, singing the old standards & enjoying a well-made vodka martini with a Maine lobster roll.

Regina\'s sole survivor is her much loved daughter, M. Patrice O\'Hara and her partner Maria Marzilli-Tripp of Buxton, Maine.

Patrice would like to acknowledge the exceptional care given her mom by the staff and care-givers of Atria Harbor Hills Assisted Living in East Greenwich, RI and Seal Rock Heath Care Facility in Saco, Maine.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and taking long walks. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren, Kayla and Tyler. Besides her loving husband, Maria leaves three daughters, Cassilda L. Almeida of Seekonk, Maria Fatima Thongpul and her husband James of Milford, MA and Maria Connie Almeida and her fiancé, John Tavares of Cranston; two grandchildren, Kayla and Tyler Thongpul of Milford, MA; a brother, Albano Lopes of Lisbon, Portugal and many nieces and nephews. A member of Dominican Academy, Class of 1942, she worked in the family business, the former Borje’s Dry Goods, was a homemaker and was employed by Munro Electric. She was a life  member of the East End Sportsmen’s Club Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Ladies’ Guild of the former Blessed Sacrament Parish and a former Boy Scout Den Mother. She was a pianist and lover of music. 

Besides her husband of 64 years, she leaves 5 children, Henri Leboeuf, Jr. and his wife Kathi of Vail, AZ, Michael Leboeuf and his wife Pat, and Susan Champagne, all of Assonet, Paul Leboeuf and his wife Linda and David Leboeuf and his wife Mare, all of Fall River; grandchildren, Brian and Stacie Champagne and Joshua, Justin, Selina and Michaela Leboeuf; great-grandchildren, Alexandra Rose Buchanan, Kaylee Trask, Gianna and Jacob Leboeuf; a brother, Joseph Borje of California and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Elizabeth Leboeuf, the grandmother of the late Derek Leboeuf; the daughter of the late Elias and Martha (Warsauf) Borje and the sister of the late Linda Carlone, Minnie Massad and John Borje.

<description><![CDATA[(05/13/13) VIENS, Claudette, A., R.N., (Pelletier), 65, of Stephanie Dr., passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Brigham & Women\'s Hospital, Boston, MA.

She was the beloved wife of Gerard H. Viens, they had been married for 44 years.  Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Lionel J. and Rose M. (Martin) Pelletier. She was a resident of the Pawtuxet Valley for most of her life.

Mrs. Viens was a registered nurse at Kent County Memorial Hospital for 41 years.  She was a 1965 graduate of Coventry High School, received an Associate’s degree in Nursing from RI Junior College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Salve Regina University.

Besides her husband she leaves three daughters, Jacqueline Conn of Wethersfield, CT, Aimee Rutledge of Saratoga Springs, NY and Allison Viens of Coventry; a sister, Nancy R. Perras of Coventry and a granddaughter, Mattie Rose.

<description><![CDATA[(05/13/13) Cumberland – Mary Gertrude (Davis) Berard, 88, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul F.  Berard. Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Christopher and Catherine (Goodwin) Davis, she resided in Cumberland since 1955. Mrs. Berard had been employed by Fram; the Cumberland School Lunch Program and Texas Instruments until retiring in 1988. She was a former volunteer at the Memorial Hospital of RI and was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Bowling League. She leaves two daughters, Karen M. Stott and her husband, Gary and Leslie A. Vartanian and her husband, Michael all of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Alison and Jonathan Stott, Kristen, Lisa and Mitchell Vartanian and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Agnes Andrews, Catherine Boyle, Veronica Gingras and Joseph Davis. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from the CHEETHAM Funeral Home, 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Church, 301 Front St., Lincoln. Interment will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. <description><![CDATA[(05/12/13) Pawtucket – Carl W. Schmidt, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Velma (Barrie) Schmidt for 56 years. Born in Central Falls, he was the son of Calvin C. and Edith “Molly” M. (Sumner) Feld of East Providence. Carl was a veteran of the United States Army and later worked at Texas Instruments, Attleboro, for 33 years until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion and also a member of various leagues at the Stone-E-Lea Golf Course, Attleboro, for over 45 years. Carl also loved animals and enjoyed playing billiards with his friends at the American Legion. Besides leaving his loving wife and parents, Carl was the father of Scott W. Schmidt of Pawtucket and the late Carla S. Bell; a granddaughter, Sarah E. Krieger of Roanoke, VA; a sister, Judith Ann McNulty and her husband Tom of East Providence; his best friend, Garren Walker of Lincoln and three nephews. A member of Durfee High School, Class of 1981, he was employed by Bradley’s, Hyannis and T.J. Max, Dartmouth. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. 

He was the son of the late Claire (Berube) Nosek; the twin brother of Peter J. Berube of Westport; the nephew of Shirley Desrosiers of Westport, Claire Boardman of Texas and the late Normand Berube (his godfather); and the grandson of the late Alexander and Marie (Desrosiers) Berube. 

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport, at 10:00 AM. Burial, Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.

Grace was the Activities Director at the former Rose Cottage Nursing Home, Central Falls for 35 years until retiring, and was most recently a sales associate at the former Paper Scene, Seekonk.  She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Grace loved animals and had adopted a greyhound. She leaves a daughter, Brenda L. Mann and her husband, Frank of Pawtucket; two sons, Robert J. Findlay and his wife, Debra of North Providence and Kenneth G. Findlay and his wife, Eileen of Exeter and six grandchildren, Nicholas N. and Christopher L. Mann, Jacob R., Allison R., Olivia J. and Waverly J. Findlay. She was the sister of the late John Foley. She leaves a daughter, Sharon Dussault and her husband Gerald of Fall River; grandchildren, Rebecca Desmarais and her husband Jason of Somerset, Michael Dussault and his wife Kristen of Fall River and Brian Dussault with whom she resided; and her cherished great-grandchildren Jacob and Noah Desmarais and Aiden Dussault. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Celia (Levesque) Pontbriand. An avid Red Sox fan, she enjoyed Foxwoods and cruises with her family.
